The Importance of Natural Light in Interiors
What truly makes a space livable is often not its square footage, but the quality of light that enters it. Natural light adds a dynamism that changes with the time of day — no artificial lighting can fully replicate it.
Window placement, height, and proportions determine how much and what kind of natural light a room receives. Northern light is steady and soft, ideal for studios and workspaces. Southern light shifts throughout the day, adding warmth to living spaces.
As in our Warm Living Room project, large windows and open plans allow natural light to reach the deepest points of a space. This is not just about aesthetics — it matters for health and productivity too.
In a well-designed space, daylight is the least expensive yet most valuable material.
